If anyone is intereseted

I don't want to post up the entire story for personal reasons but if anyone is interested to read the story please feel free to contact me, I welcome criticism to help develop my story.

Finished with the story

I've finished the basic short story, being a personal ongoing project after submission, this was written so that I could continue to develop it and gain criticism before I dive into creating a full movie script.

Notes on editing, the backgrounds a too clear and contrast with the character because the film I used was from mini DV so I ended up using a grain effect on the background.
Along with the grain I looked closely at the film footage and noticed that lower quality footage has a an effect where the images seem to all be in 7x7 pixel squares. Realizing this I duplicated the background layers and turned the top layers into a mosaic of matching 7X7 pixel squares and lowered the opacity to blend with its original state.

---->

the MILF (dont laugh at the abreviation)

The Moro Islamic Liberation Front and the Abu Sayyaf

These separatist groups are referenced in the story, situated in deep Mindanao (south) they have been fighting for an Islamic state for decades.

hahaha

I was looking through images of Philippine Army Uniforms...

In the Philippines it's common to use the banka (small engine powered boat) when arriving on less populated islands. You usually get off and get your feet wet but as you can see here you can pay a porter to carry you like luggage too.

Poster content

unfortunately by focusing so much in the film I have neglected designing the poster. Because the story summary and movie excerpt the most important parts of this project, I'm not too worried.

<-- thanks Julia for helping me with poster content. (from the story she represents the nameless girl in white)

Out and about taking photos for the green screen. Best to take the shots in daylight and then edit in Photoshop.

Music

Throughout each week I contact my old friend Aman Khosla who is studying in Berkley School of Music. We discuss how I would like the music to come out and express the track. We go over how best to express a dream state and how to revert back to reality without breaking the fluidity of the scenes.
The final piece will have many subtle intricacies so its crucial to watch the final film with headphones.

how i keep track of my story board

For the fight scenes I draw over the already filmed scenes where 'Laurene' is striking the air. I draw black shadows onto the printed fight layout and then use that as a reference as I film the thug scenes separately.

Here i would keep track of what I needed to film and what i needed to refilm, also put notes on editing
